Joal Manufactured Models
10/20/07 at 12:23:27

Hello Guys, I've been looking into diecast models of Joal types and must say they look quite detailed which adds to my interest. My question is , are Joal diecast models heavy or do they just look like they are? It looks like they might be from pictures I've seen so I've added one below. Can anyone provide me with any more information about the models and weight? I've looked on TractorMad but would like a little bit more information before purchasing anything like this.

I like the look of the Joal Diecast Models, I think it's time to have another look at there products. I'm pretty knew to the world of collector models and to be honest I'd proberly end up giving them to my son but could anyone tell me what the difference Is between Joal Diecast Models and Britain Diecast Models as I'm feeling a little confused.

They are by a different manufacturer, that's all. Different brand name, like Cadbury Vs Galaxy.

It is my experience that all good die cast models are heavy. They would certainly stand up to a child, but these are too nice to allow to be all bashed up.

Definitely too nice to be bashed around. If kept well, with boxes and so on these are the kind of thing that might be worth a little in the future. If you don't look after them, then you are losing out on that potential.

I think though that they will last pretty well when played with. They are fairly sturdy most of them. I haven't any Joal specifically but the few die cast models that we do have look like they would be a little tough for a wee one to hurt. Just keep the box neat and tidy when it's taken out.

I honestly can't see me actually preserving one of these toys in a mint condition as they are all played with inside the house and outside in the garden. I agree though, I'm sure they would be worth a bit if product and box are kept in a good condition mind.

They would never be mint condition in my household. I was the girl on the block that loved to play with all the tractors and dump trucks.  Grin I do wonder though, how many collectors there are out there for things like this. Anyone know?

I really could not tell you myself, I can imagine that the amount of collectors is slowly growing more and more over the years though. If you want to start building a rough picture just take a little look on Ebay, you will find thousands of advertisements straight way offering Tractors and models. Be careful when purchasing off Ebay mnd as you don't really know what the condition is of the item until its in your hands as some sellers try to hide certain details from you.

As the model ages it becomes more rare, and that is when the collectibility increases. Some things will just never gain much value because the market at the time was saturated; like the Royal wedding memorabilia from a couple of decades ago. Only the stuff that was easily damaged, but maintained in tip top shape will be worth anything.

Same goes here. If you want to keep something as an investment, buy two and keep one locked away. Other wise it won't have much value in the future.

I cant find anything on them about weight, its like trying to find a needle in a haystack! From every picture I have seen, and I was looking at models from Aviation to Motorbikes they all look fairly sturdy. I'm not saying they would hold up to someone standing on them, but I don't think they can be that easily broken either.

These particular toys are designed for the slightly older child in my opinion, and your right there a lot tougher and last longer. These are the benefits of products like the Joal diecast models, recommended if your kids like to use there toys in the garden a lot.
